Would you like to make a difference to a local school in Sunderland?
One of the schools within our Trust, Harry Watts Academy, is seeking enthusiastic new governance members to be part of our Local Advisory Committee (Governing Body).
As a member of the Local Advisory Committee, you will support the development and strategic direction of our Harry Watts Academy, a specialist school for pupils with an Autistic Spectrum Condition diagnosis.
The role of the Local Advisory Committee is to ensure the good conduct of the school and to promote high standards of educational achievement.
There are three core functions:
i) ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
ii) holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and performance management of staff
iii) overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
