Potting Plants and the Poison Garden at Alnwick
Return to Latest News
Mary Astell pupils visited Alnwick Garden and participated in lots of fun and rewarding activities. They entered the potting shed, where they were taught about how to plant crops, the importance of keeping them healthy, and how a gardener might look after them.
To continue the plant theme, the pupils ventured into the Poison Garden, home to a range of potentially poisonous plants. Supervised by experts in the field, they were shown around and discussed the types of plants there. They then helped to cover over a contained plant, as this aids its growth.
Overall, they had a lot of fun exploring Alnwick Garden and even saw some ducks!
